The Optimist is our entry-level boat. It can be sailed by sailors as young as 8 years old and helps to promote the basics of sailing in a fun, safe environment. Our Learn-to-sail programme is centred around Optimists.

Optimists are ideally suited to sailors between 7 and 14 years of age.
